Marketing GrantTerms and Conditions

1. The business must be based in East Durham
2. The business must be considered full time
3. The business must comply with all legal implications eg planning permission, special licences, insurances, statutory requirements etc.  East Durham Business Service reserves the right to request evidence of this as necessary.
4. Any expenditure as described in the overview is eligible for grant support from the date of an initial meeting with an East Durham Business Service Adviser, though this is at your own risk.
5. Following approval of the grant, you will have three months from your project start date to incur eligible expenditure, and a further month to make a claim but all calims for a given financial year must be made before the end of March of that financial year.
6. Evidence of defrayed expenditure must be provided to East Durham Business Service on the appropriate claim form.
7. The grant may be claimed in up to two instalments. (The first instalment must be for a minimum of £250 - Marketing Grants only)
8. Please note that a business may only apply for one Marketing Grant, in any one finanacial year.
9. The business must be suitable for public funding as defined by East Durham Business Service, which is offering financial support via Area Based Grant.
10. The business must be an SME as defined by the European Union.  SME definition: companies who meet all of the following, employ less than 250, turnover less than 50 million euros or Net Assets of less than 43 million euros and less than a quarter owned by a non SME (ie not meeting the above conditions).
11. Any award of a grant is classed as "de minimus" aid under state rules.  This means if you apply for grant funding from any other public body, you will need to inform them of the amount of the Grant you have recieved, and that it was "de minimus".
12. East Durham Business Service reserves the right to publicise the awarding of any grant.
13. Please note the award of a grant is based on a first come first served basis due to imposed limitations of funding.  East Durham Business Service does not guarantee to provide a grant, and reciept of an application form does not constitute commitment to provide a grant.
14. East Durham Business Service retains ultimate discretion over the awarding of a grant.
